For the first time since January 2020, DragCon is back, back, back, back again!
Drag lovers and stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race haven’t been able to gather IRL at an official DragCon since the first RuPaul’s DragCon U.K. in the beginning of 2020. The annual DragCons in L.A. and New York were both canceled that year, leaving many fans to resort to virtual events. But now, get ready to dust off your wigs and heels for RuPaul’s DragCon L.A., which is officially returning in 2022.

“I’m so excited that our tribe will be safely reunited once again,” said RuPaul in the convention announcement on Wednesday (September 15). “RuPaul’s DragCon is the most gorgeous, most gag-worthy, and most life-affirming drag convention on the planet, and our aim is to serve you a super amazing experience while keeping you as safe as possible.”
The weekend-long event marks the 10th in-person DragCon. It will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15 — and for the very first time, the first day of the convention will be a full day of programming so you can see and meet even more of your royal queens!
“The 2022 L.A. convention marks the first time ever we will be featuring a full-day of Friday programming for the three-day convention,” said World of Wonder co-founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey. “With our last DragCon having been a virtual experience, we are thrilled to be bringing our flagship in-person event back to the community we love so dearly, and rest assured safety will be our top priority!”
We hope your wig is glued on tight because the list of queens sashaying across the convention center is pretty epic. In addition to RuPaul, who will be there in person, you’ll be able to clock Priyanka (Canada’s Drag Race Season 1), Kita Mean (Drag Race Down Under Season 1), Lawrence Chaney (Drag Race U.K.), Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race S13), Kylie Sonique Love (Drag Race All Stars 6), and other queens from various Drag Race franchises, including Aquaria, Mariah Balenciaga, Alaska, Tammie Brown, Kim Chi, Heidi N Closet, Divina De Campo, Eureka O’Hara, Gigi Goode, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Kameron Michaels, Naomi Smalls, Pandora Boxx, Ariel Versace, Blu Hydrangea, Kahmora Hall, Mrs. Kasha Davis, Scarlet Envy, Nicky Doll, Vivacious, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Baga Chipz, Shuga Cain, Sasha Velour, the United Kingdolls, and the Frock Destroyers. More performers will be announced in the coming months.
RuPaul’s DragCon L.A. runs May 13-15, 2022, and tickets are available now.
