Hello, we would like to open an account at the Carson Kressley Bank of She-Merica!
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Carson Kressley recently swung by Live With Kelly and Ryan to discuss what he’s been up to in these pandemic times. Kressley talked about splitting his time between his homes in New York and Pennsylvania, dreaming of opening an Amish disco, and most importantly, what it was like being back on the set of Drag Race.
“It’s really been the little show that could,” said Kressley of the reality competition series, which is now in its 13th season. “Every year I think it gets better and more fun.”
When Ripa asked how Kressley and his squirrel friends shot the season during the COVID-19 pandemic, the former Fab Fiver said Drag Race was one of the first shows to come back to set and film last summer. “VH1 and World of Wonder were very strict about filming protocols,” he explained, admitting that those plexiglass barriers around the judges’ table did make him feel like he “worked at a bank.”
“I wanted to get a stamp and void some checks,” he joked. Just not that check for $100,000!
In case you need a RuFresher, the 13 girls who will have you gagging this season are Denali, Elliott with 2 Ts, Gottmik, Joey Jay, Kahmora Hall, Kandy Muse, Lala Bi, Olivia Lux, Rosé, Symone, Tamisha Iman, Tina Burner, and Utica Queen.
“Competing safely and fiercely, our 13 queens proved that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep a good queen down,” RuPaul said in a previous statement addressing the filming process.
