Meet the Sticky and Sweet Queens of “Canada’s Drag Race” Season 2

Welcome to the candy shop!

Ready to feel the fantasy, eh?

Pack a parka because it’s almost time to head back up North for Canada’s Drag Race Season 2. As of today (September 14), we know who will be competing to be crowned Canada’s next drag superstar. The 12 fierce queens are Adriana (Québec City, Que.), Beth (Vancouver, B.C.), Eve 6000 (Toronto, Ont.), Gia Metric (Vancouver, B.C.), Icesis Couture (Ottawa, Ont.), Kendall Gender (Vancouver, B.C.), Kimora Amour (Scarborough, Ont.), Océane Aqua-Black (Québec City, Que.), Pythia (Montréal, Que.), Stephanie Prince (Calgary, Alta.), Suki Doll (Montréal, Que.), and Synthia Kiss (Vancouver, B.C.).

Priyanka won the first season of Canada’s Drag Race in 2020 even though she had only been doing drag for three years before sashaying into the workroom. She delivered what many fans consider one of the best lip-syncs in Drag Race herstory to Celine Dion’s “I Drove All Night.”

“Whenever I watch that lip-sync, I cannot believe I’m watching myself,” she told NewNowNext last year. “Something came over my body and I became a demon because I was so good. I just can’t even be humble about it because it was just that iconic.”

In addition to new a crop of queens, viewers will also see fresh faces behind the judges’ panel since Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Stacey McKenzie will not be returning to judge the sophomore season. Brooke Lynn Hytes will be joined by three new judgy Judies: Amanda Brugel, Brad Goreski, and Traci Melchor, who will help critique the queens during the 10-episode run.

“The secret’s out! We are so excited about our judging panel this season. They make a fabulous team, and the fans are going to love what each brings to the table,” said Trevor Boris, the showrunner for Canada’s Drag Race. “Brooke Lynn Hytes is drag royalty and brings so much experience from season one, while Brad is a style icon who is as funny as he is fashionable.”

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
